The Tourism Department, Bodoland Territorial Council (BTC), celebrated World Environment Day at Golagaon Village, an adopted tourism village, with a focus on sustainable tourism and community development.
The event marked the inauguration of a new Homestay initiative, supporting rural tourism and creating opportunities for local communities. A Plantation Drive was also organized to promote environmental conservation and a greener future.
The programme was attended by Sri Ansula Basumatary, ACS, Secretary, Tourism Department, and Sri Jayanta Sarmah, Director-cum-CHD, Tourism Department, along with villagers and stakeholders.
This initiative reflects our commitment to responsible tourism, nature conservation, and empowering communities while preserving the region’s natural heritage.
